This is a great holiday hostess gift if I can keep from eating them all myself. Don't try to make these in the summer because the humidity will keep them from getting/staying crispy.
- 1 Egg White
- 1/4 Cup Sugar
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 1/2 tsp. Chile Powder
- 1/4 tsp. ground Allspice
- 1/2 tsp. ground Cumin
- 1 tsp. Cayenne Pepper
- 2 1/2 Cups Pecan halves
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Beat egg white until soft and foamy. Combine all ingredients except nuts; whisk into egg white. Stir in pecans until well coated; spread in single layer onto a ungreased rimmed baking sheet.
- Bake for 15 minutes, then toss and separate nuts. Reduce oven temp to 250 degrees and bake another 10 minutes.
- Allow to cool. Break into individual pieces.
- Store in airtight containers.
